This world-famous journey combines breathtaking Himalayan scenery, authentic Sherpa culture, ancient Buddhist heritage, and a rewarding high-altitude trekking experience. The Everest Base Camp Trek 14 Days itinerary is designed to provide a comfortable pace with carefully planned acclimatization days. This approach helps your body adapt to higher elevations while allowing you to enjoy every stage of the journey safely and comfortably. Whether your goal is to witness the world’s highest mountain up close, challenge yourself physically, or explore the rich culture of the Himalayas, EBC trekking offers an experience unlike any other.
EBC trekking begins with a scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, the gateway to the Everest region. From Lukla, the trail follows the Dudh Koshi River through charming villages, forests, and suspension bridges before reaching Namche Bazaar, the commercial and cultural center of the Khumbu region.
After an acclimatization day in Namche Bazaar, the trek continues through Tengboche, Dingboche, Lobuche, and Gorak Shep before arriving at Everest Base Camp. Along the route, trekkers experience changing landscapes, impressive glaciers, alpine valleys, and magnificent mountain views.
EBC trekking adventure continues with an early morning hike to Kala Patthar, where sunrise reveals one of the finest panoramic views of Mount Everest and the surrounding Himalayan range. Everest Base Camp Trek 14 Day itinerary is carefully planned to balance daily walking distances with proper acclimatization, ensuring a safer and more enjoyable trekking experience.
Imagine standing at Everest Base Camp with colorful prayer flags fluttering in the mountain breeze and the Khumbu Glacier stretching before you. It is a moment that transforms months of planning into a lifetime memory—one reason why thousands of trekkers choose this journey every year.
Everest Base Camp Trek 14 Days is considered a moderate to challenging trek. Although no technical climbing or mountaineering experience is required, good physical fitness, endurance, and preparation are essential.
Trekkers generally walk between 5 and 7 hours each day, covering approximately 10 to 15 kilometers, depending on the itinerary and trail conditions. The greatest challenge is the high altitude rather than the distance itself. As elevation increases, proper acclimatization becomes essential for a safe and successful journey.
The Everest Base Camp Trek 14 Days includes dedicated acclimatization days in Namche Bazaar and Dingboche. These scheduled rest days allow your body to adjust naturally while reducing the risk of altitude sickness. Walking at a steady pace, drinking plenty of water, maintaining a balanced diet, and following your trekking guide’s recommendations all contribute to a safer trekking experience.
The Everest Base Camp Trek can be completed throughout most of the year, but two seasons offer the best overall experience.
Spring (March to May)
Spring is one of the most popular seasons for EBC trekking. Stable weather, comfortable temperatures, blooming rhododendron forests, and excellent mountain visibility make it an ideal time for trekking and photography.
Autumn (September to November)
Autumn is another excellent season for the Everest Base Camp Trek. Clear skies, dry weather, and fresh mountain air provide outstanding trekking conditions. This period is especially popular because of its consistent visibility and pleasant daytime temperatures.
Whether you choose spring or autumn, the Everest Base Camp Trek 14 Days offers an unforgettable Himalayan adventure that combines world-class scenery, cultural discovery, and the satisfaction of reaching one of the world’s most iconic trekking destinations.

Welcome to Nepal, the starting point of your Everest Base Camp Trek. Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, our representative greets you and transfers you to your hotel in Kathmandu. The drive takes around 20–30 minutes, depending on traffic.
After checking in, you have time to rest or explore the lively streets around Thamel, Kathmandu’s popular tourist district. Here, you can exchange currency, buy last-minute trekking gear, or relax in one of the many cafés before your adventure begins.
In the evening, you attend a trek briefing with your guide. Flight Duration: 30–35 minutes
Walking Distance: 8 km
Today marks the real beginning of your Everest Base Camp Trek. Early in the morning, you transfer to the domestic airport for one of the world’s most scenic mountain flights to Lukla.
As the aircraft approaches Lukla Airport, spectacular views of snow-covered Himalayan peaks appear through the window. After landing at an elevation of 2,860 meters, you meet the porters, make final equipment checks, and begin your EBC trekking journey.
The trail starts with a gentle descent through traditional Sherpa villages, stone-paved pathways, prayer wheels, colorful mani walls, and suspension bridges crossing the Dudh Koshi River.
The walk is relatively easy, allowing your body to adjust gradually to the increasing altitude. Along the trail, you pass small tea houses surrounded by pine forests and cultivated farmland.

Walking Distance: 10–11 km
Today is one of the most exciting days of the Everest Base Camp Trek 14 Days because you reach Namche Bazaar, the vibrant Sherpa capital of the Khumbu region.
The morning begins with a pleasant walk beside the Dudh Koshi River. You cross several long suspension bridges decorated with colorful prayer flags while passing through small villages and pine forests.
After Monjo, you enter Sagarmatha National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here, permits are checked before continuing deeper into the Everest region.
The trail then crosses the famous Hillary Suspension Bridge before beginning the longest uphill climb of the day toward Namche Bazaar. Although this climb is challenging, frequent rest stops make the ascent comfortable.
If the weather is clear, today’s climb rewards you with your first distant view of Mount Everest.

Acclimatization is one of the most important parts of the Everest Base Camp Trek. Instead of resting all day, you hike to a higher elevation before returning to sleep at Namche Bazaar. This approach helps your body adjust naturally to the thinner mountain air.
Many trekkers consider this day the key to a successful Everest Base Camp Trek. Walking high and sleeping low significantly reduces the risk of altitude sickness and prepares your body for elevations above 4,000 meters later in the journey.
After breakfast, you follow a steady uphill trail toward the famous Everest View Hotel, one of the highest hotels in the world.
This section of the trail offers some of the best panoramic scenery during the early part of the trek.

The Everest View Hotel is one of the finest viewpoints on the Everest Base Camp Trek 14 Days. On a clear morning, you enjoy panoramic views of:
Walking Distance: 10 km
After breakfast, you leave Namche Bazaar and continue your Everest Base Camp Trek toward the famous village of Tengboche. Today’s walk is one of the most scenic sections of the journey, with wide mountain views almost the entire day.
The trail begins with a gentle, nearly level path along the mountainside. As you walk, spectacular views of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, and Thamserku accompany you. The route then gradually descends to Phunki Tenga, a small riverside settlement where many trekkers stop for lunch.
After crossing the Dudh Koshi River, the trail climbs steadily through beautiful forests of pine, fir, juniper, and rhododendron. During spring, these forests are filled with colorful rhododendron flowers, while in autumn the clear skies offer uninterrupted mountain views.
The final climb brings you to Tengboche, home to the largest monastery in the Everest region.

Today’s section offers some of the finest mountain scenery on the Everest Base Camp Trek 14 Days itinerary.

Wake up to a breathtaking Himalayan sunrise before continuing your Everest Base Camp Trek toward Dingboche.
The trail descends through a forest to Debuche before crossing the Imja Khola on a suspension bridge. From here, the landscape begins to change. Dense forests gradually disappear, giving way to open alpine terrain, wide valleys, and rocky hillsides.
Passing through Pangboche, one of the oldest Sherpa villages in the Khumbu, you continue toward Somare and finally reach Dingboche.
As you gain elevation, the air becomes noticeably thinner, so walking slowly and staying well hydrated is essential.
Best Viewpoints Along the Trail
The route provides excellent close-up views of several famous Himalayan peaks.

Wide views of Lhotse and surrounding glaciers
Walking Distance: 7 km (Round Trip)
Today is another important acclimatization day during your Everest Base Camp Trek 14 Days. Following the principle of “climb high, sleep low,” you hike to Nangkartshang Peak before returning to Dingboche for the night.
The trail climbs gradually above the village before becoming steeper as you approach the viewpoint. Although the altitude makes the hike more demanding, the rewards are well worth the effort.
Best Viewpoint of the Day
Nangkartshang Peak is widely regarded as one of the best viewpoints before reaching Everest Base Camp.
From the summit area, you can enjoy magnificent views of:
After spending time at the viewpoint, you descend to Dingboche for lunch and enjoy a relaxing afternoon.
Walking Distance: 8 km
Today’s Everest Base Camp Trek takes you deeper into the high Himalayas. The vegetation becomes sparse, the landscape more rugged, and the glaciers more visible with every step.
Leaving Dingboche, the trail climbs gradually to Dughla (Thukla), where many trekkers stop for lunch. After the break, a short but steep climb leads to the Thukla Pass.
At the top of the pass, you arrive at the Everest Memorial, a moving tribute to climbers and Sherpas who lost their lives on Everest and other nearby peaks. It is a quiet place that reminds visitors of both the beauty and the challenges of the Himalayas.
From the memorial, the trail follows the edge of the Khumbu Glacier toward Lobuche. The surrounding scenery becomes increasingly dramatic, with towering peaks, glacial moraine, and rocky terrain.
Best Viewpoints Along the Trail
Today’s route offers spectacular high-altitude scenery, including:
As you arrive in Lobuche, you can feel that you are entering the final stage of the Everest Base Camp Trek 14 Days. The village sits beneath towering Himalayan peaks, and tomorrow brings the long-awaited journey to Everest Base Camp.
Walking Distance: 12–13 km
Today is the highlight of your Everest Base Camp Trek. After several days of gradual ascent and proper acclimatization, you finally reach the legendary Everest Base Camp.
You leave Lobuche after breakfast and follow the trail along the lateral moraine of the Khumbu Glacier. The route is rocky and uneven, with several short climbs and descents over glacial terrain. As you gain altitude, the landscape becomes more dramatic, surrounded by towering Himalayan peaks, ice formations, and rugged mountain scenery.
After approximately three hours of trekking, you arrive at Gorak Shep, the last permanent settlement on the Everest trail. After a short rest and lunch, you continue toward Everest Base Camp.
The trail follows the edge of the Khumbu Glacier, weaving over rocky moraine and glacier debris. Although the distance is not long, the high altitude makes every step feel more demanding. Walking at a slow and steady pace allows your body to conserve energy.
Reaching Everest Base Camp (5,364 m) is an unforgettable moment. Standing at the foot of the world’s highest mountain is the reward for days of determination and preparation. During the spring climbing season, colorful expedition tents fill the base camp, creating an exciting atmosphere. Outside the climbing season, the glacier, ice formations, and surrounding peaks remain equally impressive.
After spending time taking photographs and enjoying the achievement, you retrace your steps to Gorak Shep for the night.
Best Viewpoints Along the Trail
The journey itself offers incredible scenery before you even reach Everest Base Camp.
Walking Distance: 13–14 km
Today begins before sunrise as you climb to Kala Patthar, the highest point of the Everest Base Camp Trek 14 Days itinerary.
The hike starts in darkness with headlamps lighting the rocky trail. Although the climb is steep and the altitude makes breathing slower, the effort is rewarded with one of the finest mountain panoramas in the Himalayas.
As the first rays of sunlight illuminate the surrounding peaks, the entire Everest massif glows in shades of gold and orange.
Unlike Everest Base Camp, Kala Patthar provides an unobstructed view of Mount Everest, making it the best photography location of the entire trek.
After spending time at the summit, you descend to Gorak Shep for breakfast before beginning the long descent to Pheriche.
The return journey feels noticeably easier as you lose altitude. The trail passes Lobuche, the Everest Memorial, and Dughla before descending into the broad valley of Pheriche.
Many trekkers consider this sunrise view the defining moment of their EBC trekking experience.
By the afternoon, the warmer temperatures and lower altitude make Pheriche a comfortable place to rest after two rewarding days above 5,000 meters.
Walking Distance: 19–20 km
After breakfast, you begin the journey back toward Namche Bazaar. With each step downhill, breathing becomes easier as you descend into thicker air.
The trail retraces the familiar route through Pangboche and Debuche before reaching Tengboche. If you did not have enough time earlier in the trek, this is another opportunity to visit Tengboche Monastery or simply enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
From Tengboche, the trail descends through rhododendron and pine forests to Phunki Tenga before climbing gradually back to Namche Bazaar.
Although there is one final uphill section before reaching Namche, the overall day is much easier than the ascent.
Returning to Namche feels like coming back to civilization after several days in the high mountains. Many trekkers celebrate with fresh coffee, homemade bakery treats, or a warm shower.
Walking Distance: 18–19 km
Today is the final trekking day of your Everest Base Camp Trek . After breakfast in Namche Bazaar, you descend through the Khumbu Valley, following the familiar trail through Sagarmatha National Park and crossing the Dudh Koshi River on suspension bridges. Passing through villages such as Monjo, Benkar, Phakding, Ghat, and Chheplung, you’ll enjoy warmer temperatures, greener forests, and beautiful rural scenery.
A short final uphill climb brings you back to Lukla, marking the successful completion of your Everest Base Camp Trek 14 Days. In the evening, many trekking groups celebrate with their guides and porters, sharing memories from the adventure and thanking the local team for their support.
Flight Duration: 30–35 minutes

The best times for the Everest Base Camp Trek are spring from March to May and autumn from October to November. These seasons generally offer stable weather, clearer mountain views, comfortable daytime temperatures, and favorable trekking conditions.
Spring is warmer and brings blooming rhododendrons in the lower sections of the trail. Autumn usually offers excellent visibility and crisp mountain scenery after the monsoon season.
Winter trekking is also possible, but temperatures can become extremely cold at higher elevations. The summer monsoon months bring more cloud, rainfall, slippery trails, and a greater possibility of flight delays.
A standard Everest Base Camp Trek normally takes around 12 to 14 trekking days, including important acclimatization days at Namche Bazaar and Dingboche.
A complete Nepal itinerary, including arrival, departure, Kathmandu stays, and buffer days for possible Lukla flight delays, usually requires around 14 to 17 days.
Shorter itineraries are available, but reducing acclimatization days is not recommended because the main challenge of the trek is altitude rather than walking distance.
Flights to Lukla can operate from Kathmandu or Manthali Airport in Ramechhap, depending on the trekking season and current aviation arrangements.
During busy spring and autumn seasons, many Lukla flights are operated from Manthali to reduce air traffic congestion in Kathmandu.
A Kathmandu to Lukla flight normally takes around 25 to 35 minutes. A Manthali to Lukla flight usually takes around 15 to 20 minutes, although reaching Manthali from Kathmandu requires several hours by road.
Flight arrangements can change, so they should always be confirmed shortly before departure.
You need the appropriate trekking permits before entering the trekking region.
